We worked with Frank for our wedding in August at the Hillsborough Racquet Club. We could not have asked for a more amazing experience than we received with Schumann's Four Seasons. He coordinated all of our food, appetizers, and rentals flawlessly. They are true professionals and know exactly what to do. I felt so comfortable trusting him with our wedding. The food was FANTASTIC and we could not have asked for anything more. The entire experience was great and we would recommend Schumann's to ANYBODY!

Schumann's Four Seasons Catering went above and beyond our needs. Frank was such a pleasure to work with, he was very patient with us changing our plans several times. Frank gave helpful suggestions and even drove all the way out to our venue in Livermore to go over set-up etc. When problems arose with our venue Frank took care of the situation which alleviated a lot of stress on our end and also saved us money. Our guests raved about the food and did not go home hungry. I would definitely recommend Schumann's for upcoming events!

First of all I would give Schumanns more stars if they provided more:) We went to our tasting and everything that Frank brought out we LOVED! Crab cakes, bruschetta, shrimp cocktail, etc. We wanted it buffet style and then changed it to plated and then we wanted Chicken and then changed it to beef/chicken combo. Frank was the most patient peaceful man to work with. he said we can have it whatever way we want it. We can also change it up until 2 weeks before the wedding. Frank also, met us up at the venue to walk us through where the tables will be arranged, where the cocktail hour will be and so on. We felt so at ease with all the plans in his hands. After the wedding, during cocktail hour when we were taking pictures, Frank sent servers with plates of appetizers to us so we can eat while we were taking pictures. When we were done with pictures we went and joined our guests and Frank hands us glasses of cold water. Frank knew every single thing that we needed and brought it to us at the perfect time!! He thinks of every detail. We had 170 guests and the food that was served was hot and DELICIOUS! From the salad to the beautiful basket of bread, the butter dish with greenery to the attentive servers for each table. Our family and guests could not say enough good things about the service and food. Frank is so friendly and peaceful and easy to work with. He guides you and has great ideas to help you. Immediately I received a menu and pricing when I called and from then on it was such an easy process. The pricing was the best and we received much more than we could have asked for. Highly highly recommend!!!!!!!

It’s true, the catering portion will in all likelihood be at least 50% of your wedding budget. But to have an excellent catering experience doesn’t mean your budget needs to balloon exponentially. We were lucky enough to spot Schumann’s Four Seasons Catering from our venue’s recommended vendor list. Frank (one of two brothers who own the business) is a highly experienced and competent caterer who clearly loves what he does, and importantly treats his crew well so they in turn do a good job for the guests. We took a liking to Frank the first time we met him at his offices/kitchen in Mountain View for the tasting (the fee was applied as a credit towards our final catering bill). Frank was happy to spend a couple hours with us, explaining various menu options and answering our questions until we were done around 9pm (we had to commute from SF after work one night). The food itself was quite good – we were most impressed with the array of hors d’oeuvres and the filet of Chilean sea bass with mango and papaya salsa. I would say the quality is one solid notch above that at a hotel banquet hall. For a menu of 6 passed hors d’oeuvres, 2 salads (with the best virgin olive oil/balsamic vinaigrette I’ve ever tasted), fresh fruit and cheese platter, dinner rolls, 2 entrees, 2 accompaniments, plus 3 dessert items (absolutely exquisite Venetian-style petit fours, tiramisu and fruit tarts) and coffee/tea service, we were charged about $35 per guest. We supplied our own beverages and alcohol, and Frank did not charge us any corkage fees.A month before the wedding, we realized that getting a wedding cake was not an option, and we asked Frank to create a tower of crème brulee tarts with different flavors and toppings (raspberry, strawberry, chocolate shavings, vanilla, etc), based on some pictures I found from a foodie magazine. He was able to replicate the designs, and did this for another $350 – and even decorated the three-tier stand with some leftover centerpiece flowers that I gave him, so it fit right in with the rest of the décor. The guests loved the generously-sized tarts, especially how different it was from traditional wedding cake.On top of arriving 2 hours early to set up our reception area with all the beautiful linens, china, glass- and silverware and centerpieces, and staying behind to break down and clean up for another hour, Frank and his crew took care to ensure all of our guests always had a full glass or could get second helpings of the food. The staff really brought a touch of class to the entire event. All together (food, hourly service, linens, crème brulee, meals for the DJ, photographer, waitstaff and bartender, plus taxes and 18% gratuity), it came out to about $80 per person. I’d say this is about mid-range pricing for an independent caterer (one not based at a chain hotel that can easily charge you $120+ per guest). When you first meet Frank (or his brother Al), don’t be intimidated by the mess of papers, fabric and china samples strewn all over the office – there is a method to the madness, and in subsequent meetings, it became apparent that Frank doesn’t overlook any details you may have discussed and amended multiple times by phone or email. That is a big plus in our book – that the vendor is highly flexible, doesn’t have an attitude about adapting to the client’s changing needs, and actually cares enough to remember all the changes. On top of it all, we never felt any sales pressure from Frank, just got the sense he loved to create fabulous menus for his clients.

We got a lot of compliments on how great the food was. I felt it was definitely superior to other caterers I had tried. They had a large selection of food to select from for our menu and they had excellent prices.

Frank Schumann was very easy going and accommodating throughout the whole process. There were no problems if we wanted to bring some homemade breads or ask for things not on the menu such as fruit slushies which was a hit. During the reception, Frank was very attentive to us. My husband requested an ice coffee drink which wasn't on the menu, and Frank happily and quickly got him his drink. The food was excellent and we got a lot of compliments about it. The filet of Chilean seabass with a mango salsa was the standout dish.We had a buffet with lots of items: 7 passed appetizers, 11 different non-alcoholic drinks including the fruit slushies, assorted breads, assorted fruits, assorted cheese, grilled asparagus and peppers, brocollini, oriental salad, wild lettuce salad, baby red potatoes, bowtie pasta with marinara and pesto sauces, chilean seabass, and prime rib. This price included the linen rental, flatware, stemware, service, labor, food, and tax. There were no additional costs for cake cutting and corkage. We definitely got a discount for having our wedding on a Friday.
