I found my own design online and I got exactly what I wanted.
His assistants are fast when it comes to replying to emails.
Everyone at the wedding commented on how beautiful the cake was...we didn't want to cut it!

What a BEAUTIFUL and TASTY cake! We did a tasting with Chef Gerard and immediately asked him to create our cake. With just a few ideas we gave him he created a cake that seriously belongs in magazines. He worked with our florist to integrate fresh flowers into the design and what resulted was a truly eloquent, delicate, simply amazing cake. It was a work of art.
Do whatever you have to do to convince Chef Gerard to do your wedding cake- you will be absolutely blown away!

I like the unconventional, the unique and--let me just admit it--the better things for myself. So when it came to deciding the details regarding our wedding cake, I wanted something more than just the traditional wedding cake. So why not just have two kinds of cakes? My hubby and I love cream puffs. So I had the great idea of a cream puff tower, or a croque en bouche. As you can see in the pictures, the croque en bouche was beautiful. The little roses are actually candied. And the cream puffs were divine. We did not order our wedding cake from the Patisserie Belcher (as my husband’s cousin is a baker and made ours as a gift). But I can absolutely account for their croque en bouche which is excellent. My guests still rave about the cream puffs. My husband and I plan to celebrate every anniversary with a croque en bouche.

Patisserie Bechler provided our wedding cake for our wedding in November. The cake was delicious and all of our guests wanted more! Veronique the manager was very easy to work with and very helpful.

The cake was delicious, it was a perfect match to our taste. Simple white fondant with a blue fondant border decorated with white chocolate seashells and a sugar sand base. Gerard provided helpful suggestions for us, he's been decorating cakes a lot longer than we've been eating them... not sure if that's a good compliment, but it certainly was nice to have his opinions as we flipped thorough the plentiful binders. We did not choose to have flowers on our cake, though he did offer to decorate the cake with flowers for free if we provided him with the flowers. The delivery charge was worth it... the cake arrived on time and in perfect shape. Everyone loved our cake! I'd get married all over again if it meant I got to have another one of his cakes... thank God he has a retail bakery!

Not only was the cake delicious, but the decoration was beautiful.
We had a sea theme with sugar "sand" and waves around the outside of the cake.

Gerard and Delphine are AMAZING! They are wonderful to work with and delightful to be around! They were very keen on making sure they knew exactly what I wanted. Our wedding cake was absolutely gorgeous and our guests complimented constantly on how good the cake tasted. Definitely consider patisserie Bechler if you are having a wedding in the area, they're wonderful.

Gerard Bechler is incredible. He is kind, funny, and a pleasure to work with. He transformed my vision into the more gorgeous cake I've seen. More importantly, it was delicious. My only regret about my wedding is that I didn't have more than one slice! He is the best pastry chef in the area. No contest.

Delicious cake & beautiful cake! Gerard and Delphine are such down to earth people, my grandfather was a holocaust survivor and came from a long line of cake makers in holland pre-world war two. After losing all his family he made cakes in california, and it was my childhood dream for him to make my cake, unfortunately he has advanced alzheimer's and was unable to. Patisserie bechler is a worthy substitute, not only does it have the same european style (not too heavy and artificial like other cake makers in the area), but Gerard told me when I was overwhelmed by all the choices that it really is not that important, but it is the marriage that is important. Coming from someone who should be trying to sell his cakes, was really touching. They have been making cake's for over 30 years and know what they are doing. They also have tasty food at their restaurant. I recommend!

Our cake was absolutely delicious!! I HIGHLY recommend the layered chocolate mousse. We also tried Layers Cakes, which just tasted plastic. Patisserie Bechler uses REAL ingredients (i.e. butter instead of lard) and was very flexible, even when we changed a bit of the design the day before. They also put together some delicious petit fours and chocolate covered strawberries. (I heard they were delicious but didn't get to try them -- they were all gone by the time I got to the table!)

My new husand and I were looking for a simple, yet delicious wedding cake for our wedding. We found just that at Patisserie Bechler. They are a small bakery and very friendly, we were able to look through many pictures of cakes and found the perfect one for us. They were able to take the two types of cake that we each liked and put them into one. Our guests were very pleased with the cake and so were we!! It also made for great pictures. We would highly recommend this bakery for wedding cakes in Monterey, CA.

I love love love Gerard Bechler! He is a handsome, charming Frenchman and our seashell cake with sugar sand was beautiful! He is very professional and his cake is delicious!

Not only does this french bakery have great food but they do great wedding cakes as well.
We had chocolate cake with a chocolate mouse and vanilla with raspberry filling both very light tasting and delicious. Not a big fan of the taste of fondant but it was necessary to create the design of the cake I wanted. It was nice working with such pro's, I didn't have to worry about a thing.

The cake was exactly like the photo we brought in. It was beautiful and delicious. I was very happy. Gerard even threw in sugar sand and white chocolate coral decorations for free. He was great to work with.
